Within the project I experimented with the constructions of woven and digital fabrics.I worked on a methodology that has its roots in the domestic dutch industry. I rebuild an 8 shaft loom out of an old linnen 4 shaft loom and made it digitally controllable with simple rows of 8 ones and zeros.
Weaving was once a domestic practice to create garnments, blankets and carpets on our own. In the last decade we have been losing this piece of cultural heritage more and more.

Crafting digital fabrics for footwear
Within the project I explored both rebuilding a methodology as applying this to footwear. I used algorythms in Grasshopper to make visualisations and outsoles based on the structures of weaving.I also used the algorythms to convert pattern drafts from fiberworks into 8 bit code.
